Dr. Bessie Orfanakos is trained in obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN).
She grew up surrounded by strong, stoic women who often prioritized the needs of others while not taking care of themselves. Dr. Orfanakos saw the consequences that resulted, and she became determined to work as an advocate at the forefront of health care for women.
Dr. Orfanakos received her medical degree at the University of South Carolina and completed residency in obstetrics and gynecology at The University of Alabama.
Outside of work, she spends her leisure time traveling, hiking, reading and cooking.
