Biography

“I do my job so patients who have gone through a traumatic health experience can feel some assurance that they are on their road to recovery. It feels good to know I can be there for them in their time of need.”

Burfeind is a board-certified physician assistant with a specialty in orthopedic surgery.

She is the author of a case report titled “The Subtle Lisfranc: A Case for Weight Bearing Radiographs,” published in the Journal of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (JAAPA).

After working as an athletic trainer for 12 years and graduating from PA school, she chose orthopedics as a specialty because of her love for sports and staying active.

Burfeind received her physician assistant training at Shenandoah University.

She enjoys spending time outside of work with her husband, Sean, and their dalmatian, Asher. They love to hike, camp and kayak, and she enjoys reading suspense novels and listening to podcasts.
