Biography

“Organ donation is truly a gift of life. Transplants provide new life for those with end stage liver and end stage kidney disease. I am honored and humbled to participate in organ donations and transplants.” 

Dr. Casingal is board certified in general surgery. He specializes in kidney, liver and pancreas transplants, living kidney donation and dialysis access. 

He is the chief of the Division of Abdominal Transplant and the surgical director of the Kidney Transplant Program at Atrium Health Transplant Center, a facility of Carolinas Medical Center. Dr. Casingal received the Young Investigator Award from the World Transplant Congress and the Resident Teacher of the Year from Carolinas Medical Center. Additionally, he’s been recognized as a Charlotte Magazine Top Doctor. 

He earned his medical degree at Eastern Virginia Medical School. He completed his residency at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center and a fellowship at the University of Minnesota.
