Biography
“I love getting to know my patients and their families as well as helping others and making the world a little bit better.”
Dr. Overbey is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN). He specializes in gynecology and robotic surgery. He treats every aspect of women's health, from puberty through menopause. Dr. Overbey serves as vice president of the medical and dental staff at Atrium Health North Charlotte OB/GYN - University. His compassionate, expert care led him to be recognized as a Top Doctor by Charlotte magazine. He also has been a finalist for Atrium Health’s Teal Acorn Award.
Dr. Overbey has always loved science and biology. He decided to specialize in obstetrics and gynecology because of the challenging and rewarding combination of surgery, medicine and delivering babies.
He received his medical degree at Wake Forest University and completed his residency at North Carolina Baptist Hospital.
In his free time, Dr. Overbey loves to spend time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He also enjoys exercising, cooking, gardening, traveling, drawing and painting. Dr. Overbey is active in his church and sings in the choir. He also enjoys reading, especially mystery or historical books.
