Whitney “Rebecca” Wood is a board-certified physician assistant who focuses on neurology. Her critical care experience includes treating acute ischemic strokes, intracranial hemorrhages, subarachnoid hemorrhages, central nervous system infections, spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, brain neoplasms, seizures and neuromuscular emergencies.
Wood was drawn to medicine when her sister experienced a stroke at birth. At first, life circumstances steered her to a career as an advertising art director, but she decided to make a change that would empower her to achieve her original dream to become a medical provider.
During her training, Wood was inducted in Pi Alpha Honor Society.
She received her master’s degree in physician assistant studies at High Point University.
Wood enjoys spending her time away from work with her friends and family, including 2 sons, who keep her busy with robotics competitions, soccer and swimming. She also loves to travel, especially internationally.
