Biography

“I enjoy working with children with various developmental and behavioral strengths and challenges. I think every child is exceptional, and I love partnering with families to identify and nurture their children's gifts and maximize their potential.”

Dr. Senturias is board certified in pediatrics and developmental and behavioral pediatrics. She is the division chief of Atrium Health Developmental & Behavioral Pediatrics. Additionally, she is an adjunct professor of pediatrics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

She specializes in general developmental and behavioral pediatric conditions, fetal alcohol spectrum disorders, autism spectrum disorder, Tourette Syndrome and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

Dr. Senturias has received multiple awards, including Top Doctor by Charlotte magazine and Castle Connolly and the Centennial Award for Distinguished Performance in Research, Education and Service in Pediatrics from the University of the Philippines-Philippine General Hospital Department.

She has received grants from the Centers for Disease Control and the American Academy of Pediatrics to create educational materials and to educate medical and allied health providers about fetal alcohol spectrum disorders.

Dr. Senturias received her medical degree at the University of the Philippines and completed pediatric residencies at Philippines General Hospital and Akron Children’s Hospital. She completed a developmental behavioral pediatrics fellowship and a community pediatric fellowship at Yale University.

Dr. Senturias has been published in multiple scientific journals regarding fetal alcohol spectrum disorders.

Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, writing poems, singing, reading and most of all, spending time with her family.
