Dr. Barfield is board certified in family medicine and specializes in preventive care, diabetes, heart disease, asthma and COPD, musculoskeletal problems and dermatologic procedures.
As an undergraduate student, Dr. Barfield adopted healthy lifestyle choices that greatly improved his overall health. He eventually pursued medicine hoping to be an advocate for patients to achieve similar improvements in their health.
Dr. Barfield enjoys connecting with patients on a personal level and chose to practice in the area in which he grew up because he relates to many of his patients and feels he can make an impact.
He received his medical degree at the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his residency at Atrium Health Cabarrus Family Medicine.
He enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 girls. He likes cooking and woodworking and is an Eagle Scout who enjoys hiking, camping, kayaking, and catching and photographing snakes. He and his dad run a non-profit educating the public about snakes and offer free programs for North Carolina state parks, schools and scout troops.
