Research Interests

Susan Evans, MD, is currently investigating the impact of mitochondrially targeted antioxidants on cellular, organ and system outcomes following severe hemorrhage. She currently has funding from the Carolinas HealthCare Foundation as well as the American Association for the Surgery of Trauma (AAST) for this work. Previous Atrium Health funding supported projects determining neutrophil activity and survival in patients who develop renal failure following thoracoabdominal operations.
