Alzheimer’s Disease: Closing the Gap in Treatment

For patients with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, current treatment options are, unfortunately, limited and without substantial clinical benefits. Therefore, research and clinical trials are vitally important to filling this longstanding gap in knowledge.

Our Alzheimer’s disease research program, operating in partnership between Neurosciences Institute, Carolinas Rehabilitation and Charlotte Radiology, is focused on the development of treatments that prevent, delay and possibly cure Alzheimer's disease and other dementia disorders.

Using a team-based approach to patient-centric research, our specialists include:

  • Board-certified psychiatrists
  • Neurologists
  • Neuro-radiologists
  • Neuropsychologists (with expertise in memory and cognition)
  • Investigational pharmacists
  • Clinical research nurses
  • Infusion nurses
  • Certified research coordinators

Working with Patients and Partners

Patients who participate in our research studies receive free diagnostic testing and the most up-to-date treatments that would otherwise be unavailable.

Our team works with several pharmaceutical companies and drug manufactures with established records of patient safety and scientific integrity. And, every clinical trial we conduct has been carefully examined based on the potential risks and benefits for trial participants and the likelihood of further contributing to the drug development process.
