SHELBY, N.C., June 10, 2019 – Atrium Health Cleveland has been named one of Healthgrades “250 America’s Best Hospitals™. Recipients of the award represent the top 5 percent of hospitals in the nation, who demonstrate superior clinical outcomes across the majority of common inpatient conditions and procedures.

“We are honored to be recognized among America’s Best Hospitals by Healthgrades,” said Brian Gwyn, president of Atrium Health Cleveland. “This award is a testament to the hard work Atrium Health Cleveland teammates perform daily to ensure patient safety and care are at the forefront of every patient encounter. And by continuously striving to be the best, patients can stay right here in their community for excellent, world-class care.”

Healthgrades says, on average, America’s Best Hospitals outperformed their peers in treating a core group of conditions that account for more than 80 percent of mortalities in areas evaluated, including heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia, respiratory failure, sepsis and stroke.

According to Healthgrades, patients treated in hospitals named as America’s Best Hospitals™ have, on average, a 27.1 percent lower risk of dying than if they were treated in hospitals that did not receive this award.

“Healthgrades congratulates recipients of the America’s 50, 100 and 250 Best Hospitals Awards™,” said Brad Bowman, Chief Medical Officer at Healthgrades. “Consumers have many options for care, so when hospitals prove their long-term commitment to the patient and to achieving high-quality clinical outcomes, it sets their system apart in a sea of choices.”
