Atrium Health Denver Surgery Center Completes Expansion to Increase Access to Outpatient Care

Enhanced facility supports growing healthcare needs across Lincoln County and the Lake Norman region

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Sept. 11, 2026 — Today, Atrium Health celebrated the completion of an expansion and advanced accreditation at Atrium Health Denver Surgery Center, enhancing access to outpatient surgical care and procedures for patients across Lincoln County and the Lake Norman region. 

Located at 1585 Forney Creek Parkway, Suite 1100 in Denver, North Carolina, Atrium Health Denver Surgery Center officially reopened to patients in August as Lincoln County's only ambulatory surgery center, following an expansion that added a dedicated endoscopy suite, three new preoperative rooms and additional clinical space. 

"This milestone reflects years of planning to meet the future healthcare needs of this community," said Kris Shepard, senior vice president of ambulatory surgery center strategy and operations at Atrium Health. "As more procedures move to outpatient settings, patients increasingly want care that is convenient, accessible and close to where they live. This expansion allows us to increase capacity today while positioning the center for continued growth and additional specialty services in the future." 

Atrium Health Denver Surgery Center provides outpatient services across a range of specialties, including gynecology, general surgery, pediatric dentistry, orthopedics, pain management and now endoscopy. Designed specifically for outpatient care, the center offers patients a convenient and efficient alternative to a traditional hospital setting for appropriate procedures. 

The center also earned accreditation from the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, an important step in its transition to a freestanding ambulatory surgery center and a reflection of nationally recognized standards for outpatient care.
