
Atrium Health Earns Two U.S. News ‘Best Hospital’ National Rankings and Best Hospital in Charlotte
Carolinas Rehabilitation achieves top 15 ranking; Carolinas Medical Center again named best hospital in Charlotte
CHARLOTTE, N.C., July 29, 2025 – One of the nation’s most respected news outlets is again recognizing Atrium Health as a national leader in health care. In new rankings released today U.S. News & World Report “Best Hospital” rankings, Atrium Health has two nationally ranked specialties. In addition, Atrium Health is home to the most ranked hospitals on U.S. News & World Report’s statewide rankings in North Carolina.
First, Atrium Health Carolinas Rehabilitation is ranked at No. 12 on the “Best Hospitals for Rehabilitation” list. This year marks the fifth consecutive appearance among the top spots for Carolinas Rehabilitation, and this designation puts Carolinas Rehabilitation among the top 1% of rehabilitation hospitals in the nation, as well as being the highest-ranking rehabilitation hospital in the Southeast and the only ranked hospital in the Charlotte region.

Next, Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center, along with their team of experts at Atrium Health Musculoskeletal Institute, has once again ranked among the Top 50 “Best Hospitals for Orthopedics” list.

Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center is also being recognized as the “Best Hospital” in the Charlotte metro region for the ninth consecutive year. Rounding out the Charlotte metro area, both Atrium Health Cabarrus and Atrium Health Pineville were named in the top five.
In all, Charlotte-based Advocate Health has 29 award-winning hospitals on U.S. News & World Report’s 2025-26 Best Hospitals list for adult specialties. In addition, the enterprise has 31 “High Performing” specialty designations signifying top 10% performance and 209 “High Performing” procedures and conditions.

The 2025-2026 “Best Children’s Hospitals” rankings will be shared later this year. Atrium Health Levine Children’s Hospital was most recently recognized with a hospital record-breaking ten U.S. News & World Report national badges for pediatric specialties.
U.S. News evaluated more than 4,400 hospitals across 15 adult specialties and 22 procedures and conditions; only one third of them earned an award. To determine the best hospitals, U.S. News analyzed each hospital’s performance based on objective measures such as risk-adjusted mortality rates, preventable complications and level of nursing care.
