Biography
Dr. Vrochides has been in charge of developing and implementing ERAS protocols for the HPB service. He serves as Chairman, Quality Measurement and Improvement, ERAS International Society, USA Chapter. He also serves as Vice President/President-Elect, ERAS International Society, USA Chapter. Under his direction, in July 2016, Atrium became the first Academic Center of Excellence for the ERAS International Society in the United States. Clinically, Dr. Vrochide's focuses include surgical resection of all liver, pancreas and biliary malignancies including transplantation-assisted complex vascular resections, and on robotic hepatectomy and pancreatectomy. His academic concentrations are both translational and clinical research using predictive analytics and situation awareness strategies to analyze and modify risk in order to improve outcomes. He also serves as mentor to the surgical residency program at Carolinas Medical Center.
