Top2016.pngCarolinas College of Health Sciences has been named the 9th best nursing program in the nation among more than 1,900 vocational, career and community colleges. The ranking, conducted by Nursing Schools Almanac, evaluated each program on three dimensions:

  • The institution’s academic prestige and perceived value
  • Breadth and depth of nursing programs offered
  • Student success, particularly on the NCLEX (National Council Licensure Examination) national licensure exam

When each of the assessments were combined into an overall score, Carolinas College ranked as one of the best colleges focusing on entry-level pre-licensure nursing education.

"Our success truly lies within the talented and dedicated faculty who are excellent educators, compassionate, caring nurses, and capable of inspiring the students throughout their educational experience," says Cathy Borysewicz, program chair of the Nursing program.

Carolinas College’s Associates Degree in Nursing graduates have passed the NCLEX licensure exam at a 95 percent clip since 2010, one of the strongest pass rates in the state.

“While this comes as no surprise to those of us who are associated with our program, it provides wonderful national recognition for the hard work and commitment of our nursing faculty,” says T. Hampton Hopkins, president of the College.

About 80 percent of Carolinas College nursing students take a position at Atrium Health upon graduation.
