Nurse Aide Certification

Our flexible Nurse Aide I program is ideal for anyone looking for the perfect first step into healthcare. Learn everything you need to know about providing basic nursing skills in a structured healthcare setting under the supervision of a registered nurse. You’ll be set up for success to become a certified nursing assistant (CNA), a career that’s currently in high demand at Atrium Health. Plus, our program offers flexibility to choose your on-campus schedule (weekdays, evenings, or weekends) for in-person skills labs and clinicals, combined with online class work. 

You'll be able to begin your reliable and rewarding career quickly - you could finish the program and get credentialed in a matter of months.

How to Become a CNA

Curriculum


  • 120 total hours of learning required for completion for weekday courses (136 hours for Friday & Saturday courses)
  • Program combines in-person sessions, including skills labs and clinicals, with online components. 
  • Evening and weekend options available

Educational Assistance for Atrium Health Teammates

Todd and Janelle Collins Nurse Aide Scholars Program

Atrium Health Foundation has received a generous commitment from Charlotte business executives Todd and Janelle Collins to establish a Nurse Aide scholars program at Carolinas College of Health Sciences. The program will offer full scholarships to qualified Charlotte-area high school students and graduates to attend the college’s Nurse Aide program. In addition to providing a full tuition scholarship, the program will provide an additional stipend to allow for students to work part time while enrolled in the Nurse Aide program. Please note that the scholarship application is included as part of the Nurse Aide application process. Apply for the Nurse Aide program.

  • Must pass a criminal background check (pre-enrollment requirement)
