Non-Degree Courses


Courses are offered for continuing professional development and career advancement, to gain extra skills as a practicing healthcare professional or to satisfy educational requirements for certifications. Non-degree courses may not be eligible for certain types of financial aid. Please speak to an admissions counselor if you have any questions.
 

The following are the current non-degree courses:

Carolinas College of Health Sciences offers courses in Computed Tomography may be taken to meet workforce development requirements within your professional field or to prepare and satisfy requirements to sit for a certification exam. To sit for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) Computed Tomography (CT) registry exam you must meet the structured education requirement and the clinical experience requirement which are both defined by ARRT on their website under the post primary eligibility requirements.

The CTT 101 course at Carolinas College of Health Sciences meets the structured education requirement as defined by ARRT. To meet the clinical experience requirement students may use their time working in CT to meet those requirements. If a student does not have work experience in CT, they may meet that requirement with the CTT 102 course at Carolinas College of Health Sciences. CTT 102 is only offered in the Fall.

Carolinas College of Health Sciences offers courses in Magnetic Resonance Imaging may be taken to meet workforce development requirements within your professional field or to prepare and satisfy requirements to sit for a certification exam. To sit for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) registry exam you must meet the structured education requirement and the clinical experience requirement which are both defined by ARRT on their website under the post primary eligibility requirements.

If a student does not have work experience in MRI, they may meet that requirement with the MRI 102 course at Carolinas College of Health Sciences.

Carolinas College of Health Sciences offers courses in Mammography may be taken to meet workforce development requirements within your professional field or to prepare and satisfy requirements to sit for a certification exam. To sit for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) Mammography registry exam you must meet the structured education requirement and the clinical experience requirement which are both defined by ARRT on their website under the post primary eligibility requirements.

The MAM 101 course at Carolinas College of Health Sciences meets the structured education requirement as defined by ARRT. To meet the clinical experience requirement students may use their time working in mammography to meet those requirements. If a student does not have work experience in mammography, they may meet that requirement with the MAM 102 course at Carolinas College of Health Sciences. MAM 102 is only offered in the Summer.

Carolinas College of Health Sciences offers a course in Project Management may be taken to meet workforce development requirements within your professional field or to prepare and satisfy requirements to sit for a certification exam. To sit for the Project Management Professional (PMP) exam you must meet the 35-hours of project management education requirement, project work experience requirement (at least 3 years), and a secondary or higher-level background which are defined by the Project Management Institute (PMI) on their website under PMI’s How to Get Your PMP. The LEA 201 course at Carolinas College of Health Sciences meets the 35-hour of project management education requirement as defined by the PMI.

Application Requirements


  1. Application –Submit your completed application.
  2. For CT, MRI and Mammography: Associate degree in Radiologic Technology or Nuclear Medicine or proof of enrollment in a qualified imaging program.

Enrollment Requirements for CT, MRI and Mammography:

  1. ARRT Registry
  2. Background check, drug screen, and health assessment prior to start of CTT 102, MAM 102, or MRI 102.

Curriculum


Computed Tomography (CT)

  • CTT 101 – Computed Tomography (3)
  • CTT 102 – Computed Tomography Clinical Practicum (3) (Fall only) – Students currently working in CT may not need to take CTT 102 to sit for the certification exam. 

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)

  • MRI 101 – Magnetic Resonance Imaging (3) (Fall only)
  • MRI 102 – Magnetic Resonance Imaging (3) (Spring only) - Students currently working in MRI may not need to take MRI 102 to sit for the certification exam.

Mammography

  • MAM 101 – Mammography (3) (Summer only)
  • MAM 102 – Mammography Clinical Practicum (3) (Summer only)

Project Management

  • LEA 201- Project Management (3)
