The Carolinas Medical Center Anesthesiology Residency Program offers a rich and diverse learning environment within a Level I Trauma Center and Level IV NICU, providing residents with broad exposure to complex clinical care. Our residents learn alongside nationally recognized leaders across a wide range of specialties, while benefiting from the resources and expertise of a Regional Perinatal Center, SOAP Center of Excellence, Spine First Center. The exceptional clinical experience is complemented by Carolinas Medical Center’s longstanding tradition of excellence in graduate medical education, with a strong history of outstanding residents and fellows and a culture that values collaboration, mentorship, and lifelong learning.
Welcome to the Carolinas Medical Center Anesthesiology Residency Program. While we are a new residency program, we are proud to build upon Carolinas Medical Center’s longstanding tradition of training outstanding physicians and advancing excellence in patient care.
As a quaternary care center and the region’s only Level I Trauma Center, CMC offers a dynamic and diverse clinical environment where residents encounter the full spectrum of anesthesiology practice. Our trainees gain experience caring for patients with a wide range of conditions and levels of complexity, all within a supportive, collaborative, and learner-centered atmosphere.
Our mission is to develop skilled, compassionate anesthesiologists who are prepared to provide exceptional care to any patient, in any setting. Through comprehensive clinical training, mentorship, and leadership development, we strive to equip our residents to become leaders in perioperative medicine and advocates for the patients and communities they serve.
