Forensic psychiatrists are medical doctors who have expertise in the field of psychiatry and have additional training in legal and mental health matters. Their training allows them to diagnose and treat individuals with mental health issues in legal contexts and provide expert testimony and consultation on the connection between mental health and the law.
Forensic psychologists usually hold a PhD in psychology and have specialized training in forensic psychology. They have the necessary expertise to conduct psychological evaluations, research criminal behavior and provide expert testimony in court.
