Certified Trainings

At Atrium Health employer services, we value employee education and preparedness for all kinds of health hazards in the workplace. That’s why we offer a variety of training classes to give your team the tools needed to respond in difficult situations. Currently, our certified trainings include Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) and Basic Life Support (BLS).

Mental Health First Aid training

MHFA training is a public education program that teaches employees how to recognize and respond to the signs of a mental health challenge. Our program provides participants the proper tools to help team members experiencing a mental health challenge, disorder or crisis. In the event of a crisis, first aid can be given until appropriate professional help is received or the crisis has been resolved. Learn more about our MHFA training program.

Basic Life Support

Providing our high-quality BLS classes for your employees could help save lives and increase workplace safety. Conveniently offered at your worksite, our classes can be customized to meet your business needs.

Our current offerings include:

Compression-only CPR and an AED informational session

This option includes a demonstration of how to perform compression-only CPR and how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED). There is no limit to class size for this session. Classes typically last around 30 minutes.

Compression-only CPR and AED session

This option includes a review of how to perform compression-only CPR, as well as plenty of time for participants to practice these techniques. With a maximum class size of 12 participants, this class also covers how to use an AED. Sessions typically last around an hour.

Heartsaver® CPR AED provider course

An American Heart Association (AHA) CPR provider course, this option includes reviewing adult, child and infant CPR; giving rescue breaths; and assisting someone who is choking. Training on AED use is also provided.

Upon completion of the course, employees will receive AHA course completion cards. Maximum class size for this option is 10 participants. Classes typically last around 2 hours.

Heartsaver® First Aid CPR AED provider course

This course includes the full Heartsaver® CPR AED training, plus first aid training. The first aid component will cover signs of heart attack, stroke, breathing problems and more.

Upon completion of this class, employees will receive AHA completion cards. Maximum class size for this course is 10 participants. Classes typically last around 4 hours.
