Paige Glassman, IBCLC

Paige Glassman is an international board-certified lactation consultant at Atrium Health Women’s Care Piedmont OB/GYN.

Paige says she became a lactation consultant because she greatly enjoys the combination of interacting with people and learning about the scientific components of breastfeeding. Her clinical interests include helping preterm infants be successful at breastfeeding, providing support for patients with low milk supply, and investigating weight discrepancies in infants.

Paige always tells patients to give yourself grace as you navigate parenthood and breastfeeding – and personal experience has given her a unique perspective on both. A pre-survivor of breast cancer, she had a double mastectomy as a preventive option after learning she was BRCA2-positive. This meant that, although she breastfed her first two children, her third had to be formula-fed. “In the end, all my goals were reached,” she says. “I no longer had to hold my breath about getting breast cancer, and my beautiful baby boy was loved through and through no matter my feeding choice.”

When she’s not working with patients, Paige enjoys creating projects – such as door signs and earrings – on her laser engraver.
