Neurosurgery and spine treatments

Some of our minimally invasive procedures include:

  • Cervical and lumbar MED (microendoscopic discectomy)
  • Thoracoscopic spine surgery
  • Fusion with percutaneous pedicle screw fixation
  • Lateral lumbar interbody fusion

Gamma Knife radiosurgery

Gamma Knife radiosurgery is a non-invasive treatment for a variety of conditions in the brain and skull region, including tumors, facial pain and vascular disorders.

The procedure doesn’t involve any surgical incisions. Instead, it uses highly focused beams of radiation (energy).

Atrium Health Levine Cancer Proton & Advanced Radiation Center is the only facility in the Charlotte region – and 1 of only 5 across the Carolinas – that offers Gamma Knife radiosurgery.

The treatment is led by a multidisciplinary team of neurosurgeons, neuro-oncologists, radiation oncologists, medical physicists, nurses and other specialists.
