Biography

Dr. Howard is board certified in pulmonary disease, internal medicine and critical care medicine. He enjoys influencing the long-term health of his patients.
He is the medical director of Atrium Health Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehabilitation, a facility of Carolinas Medical Center, and medical director for Atrium Health Pineville Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehabilitation. He is also co-director of the Atrium Health Cystic Fibrosis Program.
Dr. Howard has been recognized as a Charlotte Magazine Top Doctor and a North Carolina Business Journal Top Doctor several times. He has previously been a finalist for Atrium Health Physician of the Year Teal Acorn Award.
He received his medical degree at the University of Wisconsin and completed his residency and fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis.
Dr. Howard and his wife are empty-nesters. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, hiking, fly fishing and photography.
