Dr. Houchin is recognized by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) for patient-centered care for diabetes. She received the Kendig Research Award at the University of Virginia and the W. Elliott White Community Pediatrician Teaching Award at Carolinas Medical Center. She has been named a Top Doctor by Charlotte magazine for multiple years.
Dr. Houchin received her medical degree at Stanford University. She completed a residency at Baylor College of Medicine and a fellowship at the University of Virginia.
