Biography

“I find it incredibly satisfying to see critically-ill babies recover from complex procedures and then go on to lead normal lives.”

Dr. Kirshbom is board certified in general, thoracic and congenital cardiac surgery. He is the chief of Pediatric and Adult Congenital Cardiac Surgery at Atrium Health Levine Children’s Hospital.

He has been named a Top Doctor by Charlotte magazine for multiple years.

His father was a cardiovascular surgeon who was tremendously passionate about his patients. Dr. Kirshbom chose cardiac surgery because of him, and he is thankful to have had the opportunities his father did not.

Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and son. They are avid beekeepers and enjoy the outdoors. He also likes to read a wide range of genres.
