Biography

Dr. Lamichhane is board certified in family medicine. He specializes in preventive healthcare for all ages and treats all chronic diseases including diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, heart disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma , thyroid disorders and others. He feels family medicine provides the best opportunity to care for patients from cradle to grave.
He is the medical director of Atrium Health Primary Care Oakboro Family Medicine and Atrium Health Primary Care Richfield Family Medicine. He is fluent in Nepali and Hindi.
Growing up in Nepal, Dr. Lamichhane observed the devastating consequences of highly infectious communicable diseases. Early on, he considered pursuing medicine and his mind was made up after his mother died of a stroke when he was 11 years old.
Dr. Lamichhane received his medical degree at B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences and completed a residency at the University of North Dakota Center for Family Medicine.
He and his wife, Jayanti, have 2 children, Hriday and Kyleigh Maya, a boy and a girl, and a Labrador. He enjoys walking his neighborhood trails and traveling with his family. He also loves watching movies and staying up to date with current affairs.
