Mask and Visitor Policies: Following CDC and state of NC guidance, masks are still required in all Atrium Health facilities. View our current visitor policy

Atrium Health is working to continue its commitment to deliver the best care for our patients, which often requires the most complex care capabilities and highest level of resources. In 2019, we announced a $1 billion capital investment plan to improve and expand our facilities in the Charlotte region, designed to help keep up with the growing needs of the community.

Our strategic facilities master plan includes the construction, renovation and land acquisition of numerous developments across our healthcare system footprint. This historic investment in the Charlotte community will continue to position Atrium Health as the leader in innovative patient care. With our state-of-the-art facilities, our physicians and medical staff will be able to provide the highest levels of clinical expertise in the most comfortable environments for our patients and teammates.

FAQ

Atrium Health has been proudly serving the Charlotte area for more than 80 years. Just as our care for the community continues to grow, so does our need for modern clinical spaces. Our new facilities will allow us to meet the needs created by the rapid growth throughout the region – providing the most up-to-date technologies to care for our patients inside state-of-the-art facilities, such as the new Carolinas Rehabilitation and Sanger Heart and Vascular Institute, and to provide an enhanced healing environment for our patients and their loved ones. In addition to our treatment facilities, Atrium Health is proud to partner with Wake Forest School of Medicine to build a second campus in midtown Charlotte. Wake Forest School of Medicine – Charlotte is expected to seat its first class in 2024.

Our construction projects are guided by prioritizing safety, support, standardization, an excellent patient experience and compassionate care for all. Throughout the construction or revitalization of any Atrium Health facility, patient care will remain our top priority and the level of care will not be impacted by the changes being made to our facilities. If our construction will impact any parking or road closures around our facilities, patients will be informed well in advance of those changes.
