Frequently asked questions

Because there’s not enough vaccine to offer it to everyone at the same time, the COVID-19 vaccine is being distributed in phases. These phases are based on your risk of severe illness or exposure to COVID-19. This follows guidance from Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the state of North Carolina.

For specific details on each phase and who’s included, visit the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services website.

Following state guidelines, we can’t give the COVID-19 vaccine to individuals until they’re eligible. As we enter each new phase, people from the previous phases can still get the vaccine.

You can only schedule the COVID-19 vaccine when you’re eligible for it. When you’re eligible, follow these easy steps to schedule your appointment online:

  • Step 1: Log in to or make an account in MyAtriumHealth. You don’t need to be an Atrium Health patient to make an account.
  • Step 2: Click on Schedule an Appointment.
  • Step 3: Click on COVID-19 Vaccination.
  • Step 4: Answer a few quick questions. Then schedule both doses in MyAtriumHealth.
