Rutherford OB/GYN Joins Atrium Health Shelby Women's Care

RUTHERFORDTON, N.C., April 17, 2019 – Two long-standing practices committed to the care of the residents of Cleveland and Rutherford Counties have joined together. Rutherford OB/GYN Associates has joined Atrium Health’s Shelby Women’s Care to expand services to the community.

Rutherford OB/GYN Associates, which is now Shelby Women’s Care-Rutherford, includes two physicians, Robin Pendleton, MD and Jeffrey Sabolovic, MD. The physicians will continue to see patients in their current location at 446 NC-108, Rutherfordton, NC 28139Darlene Lawson, certified nurse midwife, will also see patients at Shelby Women’s Care- Rutherford. The practice welcomes all new patients and accepts most insurances, including Medicaid for maternity services. This is the fourth location for Shelby Women’s Care. Other Shelby Women’s Care practices are located in Shelby, Kings Mountain and Boiling Springs.

Shelby Women’s Care delivers at Atrium Health Cleveland, which includes a Level III trauma center and Level III nursery. It is backed by clinical expertise and resources from Atrium Health’s Levine Children’s Hospital, named a Best Children’s Hospital by U.S. News & World Report in multiple specialties. Patients will also have access to Carolinas Medical Center Women’s Institute, including Atrium Health’s maternal fetal medicine, urogynecology, gynecologic oncology and infertility care.
