Making Spirits Bright

Festive displays across the enterprise celebrate our patients and teammates. ‘Tis the season for joy and celebration, especially in the Atrium Health community. We are fortunate to host dozens of festive displays this holiday season and shine light onto all of our patients, teammates and members of our communities. Before we put a bow on 2022, take time to enjoy the beauty that illuminates our enterprise. On behalf of our Atrium Health family, we wish our patients and their loved ones a time of health, hope and healing.

Love Light Tree Lighting

The Love Light Tree has been at Atrium Health Floyd for more than three decades. It was originally associated with Floyd Healthcare Foundation and has been placed at many locations on the Atrium Health Floyd Medical Center Campus over the years. Today, the tree shines on top of the hospital in honor and memory of patients and families served by Atrium Health Floyd Medical Center Heyman Hospice Care.

A Night of Lights

Atrium Health Navicent Beverly Knight Olson Children’s Hospital hosted its annual holiday tradition, “A Night of Lights,” on Dec. 8, 2022. The event is marked by a tree lighting ceremony fully open to the community.

Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist kicked off the holiday season by holding its annual Moravian star lighting ceremony on Nov. 30. Since 1992, Wake Forest Baptist has celebrated its holiday spirit with the Winston-Salem community through the 31-foot Moravian star atop the Medical Center’s North Tower. The one-of-a-kind star has 27 points that range in length from 7 to 11 feet and weigh from 30 to 65 pounds each. Each of the 27 points is illuminated by a 100-watt bulb.

3rd Annual Light Up the Night Tree Lighting

Every year, a special illuminated tree and lights are placed atop the Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Davie Medical Center to honor loved ones. Community members are invited to purchase a light or star to help raise donations for A Storehouse for Jesus and the Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Davie Medical Center employee assistance fund.

Lexington Medical Center Foundation’s Tree of Love Lighting

Each year, the Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Lexington Medical Center event raises support for our patient and teammate assistance funds. On Dec. 1, 2022, two patients were given the honor of lighting the tree as they represent health, hope and healing to the community.

Love Light Tree Ceremony – Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Wilkes Medical Center

The Wilkes Medical Center Foundation partnered with the Hospital Auxiliary to sponsor the annual Love Light Tree this year. In a meaningful 38-year tradition, individuals, families and businesses have chosen to honor and remember loved ones, friends, co-workers and caregivers through this community program. Donations to the Love Light Tree support patient and employee assistance programs.

LoveLine Tree-Lighting Celebration of Life

This year marks the 34th Annual LoveLine Tree-Lighting Celebration of Life at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist High Point Medical Center. Proceeds from this event (held on Dec. 6, 2022) go to support the LoveLine Fund at the Hayworth Caner Center. This fund enables teammates to provide direct assistance to patients for items and emergency needs outside their medical care.

National Holiday Light Day

Atrium Health’s The Well podcast shared a holiday lights episode on Nov. 22, 2022. Hosts Jennifer Kees and Meghan Donovan talked through different places teammates around the enterprise can go and see holiday light displays as well as discussing the benefit certain kinds of light have on mood.

Lights for Atrium Health Levine Children’s

On Dec. 2, the fourth annual Lights for Levine Children’s event illuminated the Charlotte community and showed support for pediatric patients and teammates through lights. Patient families and attendees also donated luminaries in front of the hospital to brighten spirits.
