Recent Highlights
ERAS®-driven improvements: Since we implemented ERAS® in 2022, we have decreased length of stay by 1 day and seen significant improvements in pain control and early mobilization after surgery.
Pioneering implantable fish skin: Sanger became a hub for training providers from around the world on how to use Kerecis Omega3 SurgiBind implantable fish skin to assist wound healing. After this product is grafted, it recruits human cells and is gradually converted into living tissue. Because of this groundbreaking work, Sanger has been designated a Kerecis Center of Excellence.
New vascular catheterization lab: We are building a leading-edge catheterization lab at Atrium Health Pineville, enabling more patients to access our expert care, closer to where they live.
Innovations
First DETOUR procedure: Our team performed the first DETOURTM procedure on the East Coast in a patient with critical limb ischemia and no bypass option.
