The Medical Laboratory Science-MLT-MLS program at Carolinas College is a 12 to 24-month program for students who hold ASCP MLT certification. Experienced faculty members teach students theory and practical skills needed to be a successful entry-level medical laboratory scientist. The curriculum is designed to develop critical thinking skills by integrating theoretical concepts with high complexity testing skills. Didactic lectures take place online, with additional psychomotor skills at the MLS level taking place within a clinical laboratory. Areas of study include clinical chemistry, hematology, immunohematology, immunology, microbiology, phlebotomy, professional development, research, education, and management.
The Medical Laboratory Technician to Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) bridge program includes 50 credit hours MLT coursework, 44 credit hours in MLS coursework, and 32 credit hours in general studies coursework. In total the program is 126 credit hours.
Carolinas College is consistently recognized by education researchers as a tremendous value when looking at lifetime earnings versus student debt. We work hard to keep our costs affordable and our tuition competitive with other institutions. For Tuition & Fee details, visit our Financial Aid page.
