Brenner Children's Hospital is now part of Atrium Health Levine Children's. The Atrium Health Levine Children’s Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Advanced Practice Provider Fellowship is a 12-month program that immerses the learner in an intensive, well rounded educational environment to fully prepare them for a career in Neonatal-Perinatal medicine.
The Dale and Karen Sisel Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Brenner Children's is one of the largest and most comprehensive intensive care nurseries in North Carolina. As a Level IV NICU, has 85 beds and offers families a single-bed intensive care unit experience. Services that are provided in the unit include ECMO, high frequency ventilation, inhaled nitric oxide, total body cooling, and complete cardiovascular care including surgery for congenital heart disease. The APP fellow will take an active role in all these activities, and with the addition of a well-rounded didactic curriculum, they will be competent and comfortable as a provider in any future NICU setting.
Didactic education will be delivered through the Center for Advanced Practice, in collaboration with our Charlotte NICU APP Fellowship. The Department education will be a combination of Faculty-led lectures, Journal Club, M&M, and Case Conferences.
