The best gift you can give a child is simple – your time. Time to play. Time to talk. Time to learn. Time to heal. Our volunteers give that gift every day. They offer help and a healing touch for patients and families who are anxious, worried and frightened. They alleviate these natural fears and apprehensions and help our patients and families feel at ease. We hope that through our volunteer program, you will discover that your skills, enthusiasm and experience make a difference in our ability to deliver quality healthcare. In return for your valuable service, we are pleased to offer you a chance to do meaningful and important work, make new friends, see new faces, participate in special programs and projects, and receive recognition for your efforts.
Levine Children's Hospital has created a wide variety of volunteer opportunities for every schedule. Below are just some examples of the many ways you can help.
Our in-house volunteers work within Levine Children's Hospital, committing to a regular schedule for a one-year time period. In-house volunteers can provide support in a variety of positions:
The Levine Children’s Hospital volunteer application requires two non-family member references. If your application is selected, you must complete and interview with the Volunteer Coordinator, a background check, a health clearance, two TB skin tests, and a Volunteer Orientation.
Acceptance of volunteers is contingent upon meeting the above requirements and the needs of the hospital. Completing an application does not guarantee acceptance into the volunteer program. The application process may take 4-6 weeks.

We are excited to offer summer opportunities to high school students ages 15-18. Teen volunteers provide non-clinical support throughout the hospital, such as delivering equipment to units, providing directions or escorting patients or visitors.
The department of volunteer services looks for mature, self-driven, dependable teens who are seeking to serve the patients, families and staff members of Levine Children's Hospital. The ideal candidate is a volunteer who is interested in learning more about the healthcare field.
Educational learning sessions give students the opportunity to connect with healthcare professionals and explore a broad variety of hospital specialties. By combining hands-on experience through volunteer work and education, the program fosters interests of the healthcare leaders of tomorrow, while serving the community of today.
Please be aware that there are limited positions available. Not all applicants are offered positions.
