Whether patients are growing their families, going through menopause or scheduling their next well-woman exam, the practice of women’s health requires a collaborative approach to patient care. At Atrium Health, we train our doctors to provide care at any stage of a woman’s life to help them be their best, strongest self.

The Atrium Health Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Fellowship in Women’s Health is a 12-month program designed to provide general obstetrics and gynecology training for physician assistants, women’s health nurse practitioners, family nurse practitioners and certified nurse midwives. Located in Charlotte, NC, this program teaches foundational knowledge and skills, with some exposure to subspecialty care, including:

  • Reproductive endocrinology
  • Maternal-fetal medicine
  • Urogynecology
  • Gynecologic oncology

The women’s health curriculum offers diverse experiences from inpatient and outpatient care to operative and perioperative environments. By working in collaborative environments rooted in evidence-based practices, these experiences enable APP fellows to learn the skills needed to become well-rounded providers and leaders.
