Cheryl Masters is a licensed clinical psychologist who holds a doctoral degree. She is the director of Psychological & Behavioral Health at Atrium Health Cabarrus Family Medicine - Concord and the co-director of Behavioral Medicine Education at the Cabarrus Family Medicine Residency program. She specializes in treating anxiety, mood disorders, life transitions, child behavior problems and stress-related medical conditions.
She is a Certified Daring WayTM Facilitator. The work, which is based on the research of Brené Brown, focuses on courage-building, shame resilience and uncovering the power of vulnerability. Masters chose clinical and health psychology to focus on how the mind and behavior affect illness and well-being.
Masters received her doctorate at the University of Memphis and completed an APA-approved internship at the Medical University of South Carolina.
Outside of work, she loves spending time with her family. She also enjoys being in nature, photography and cooking.
