Biography

“I try to practice what I preach when I talk with my patients. I ask them to make the same heart-healthy lifestyle changes that I would encourage my close friends and family members to make if I were caring for them.”

Dr. Fandetti is board certified in vascular medicine, cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology. He specializes in treating and preventing heart and vascular problems, including heart attacks and pulmonary embolisms, and helps patients recover from these life-changing events. He also performs elective procedures, including coronary angiography, coronary angioplasty and cardiovascular stent placement.

Dr. Fandetti has been the primary doctor on more than 2,500 cardiac and vascular interventions.

He has been passionate about science since he was a child. Growing up in a community where heart disease was common, Dr. Fandetti watched friends and family struggle with weight, poor nutrition, high cholesterol and limited exercise. He wanted to be a part of ending their struggles and helping people heal and practice wellness. He loves the team approach and ever-changing nature of cardiology.

Dr. Fandetti received his medical degree at Georgetown University. He completed residency at Baystate Medical Center and advanced fellowship training in cardiovascular medicine and interventional cardiology at The Ohio State University.

Dr. Fandetti uses research to help improve patients’ health and healing. He has conducted studies around drug-eluting stents, anti-platelet strategies and the best methods of evaluating heart disease. Additionally, he has investigated coronary CT angiography-derived FFR (a test used to assess coronary artery disease) and advanced pulmonary artery embolism treatments.

In his free time, Dr. Fandetti enjoys family hikes, playing tennis and socializing with friends.
