I am extremely fortunate to offer children and their families the most advanced surgical options available. My goal is to give every child with congenital heart disease an opportunity to live a fulfilling life. I am honored to provide exceptional care every day.
I am board certified in cardiothoracic surgery with a focus on treating congenital heart defects in people of all ages, especially newborn babies.
I specialize in:
- Surgical repair of congenital heart defects
- Palliation of single ventricle heart disease

I serve as the interim chairman of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Atrium Health Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute. I was named an Atrium Health Physician of the Quarter and have been named a Top Doctor by Charlotte magazine for multiple years.
I became fascinated with cardiovascular disease in college while studying under a professor who was a heart transplant recipient. I have a passion for teaching others and developing a team approach to providing optimal patient care.
I received my medical degree at Eastern Virginia Medical School. I completed a residency at the University of South Florida and a fellowship at Emory University.
I am married and the father of two sons. A self-proclaimed foodie, in my free time I enjoy exercising, gardening and traveling with my wife, who loves to cook.
