Focused on advancing research, improving care and enhancing education, we’ve broken the mold to deliver a new type of musculoskeletal care.
Rather than working in silos, our diverse team of experts works together to bring your patients the most advanced musculoskeletal care in the Southeast.
More than 200 physicians collaborate under Musculoskeletal Institute’s umbrella, which encompasses a wide array of disciplines including orthopedics, sports medicine and spine.
We’re home to the Charlotte region’s best and only nationally ranked orthopedic and rehabilitation care for both adults and children:
We bring together one of the nation’s most comprehensive groups of subspecialists, united by the goal of collaborating to improve care. Our physicians work together to evaluate patients from every angle and develop the best possible treatment plans. We’re home to top specialists in many key disciplines, including foot and ankle, pediatric orthopedics, total joint replacement, oncology, trauma and post-acute care.
Combining the latest techniques and technologies with renowned expertise, we’re leading the way in limb-lengthening surgery, treatment for rare bone cancers and complex orthopedic trauma surgery.

Dedicated to training the next generation of leaders, our orthopedic residency program – ranked third in the Southeast by Doximity in 2018 – attracts the most promising young doctors from across the nation.
These residents and fellows are drawn by the opportunity to get hands-on experience under the renowned faculty at Musculoskeletal Institute and work on a wide variety of cases at one of the busiest trauma hospitals in the nation – as well as in communities across our large footprint.
Training these up-and-coming physicians and surgeons – and answering their challenging questions – pushes us to constantly evaluate our protocols and find ways to make orthopedic care even better.
