When using one of our pediatric telehealth offerings – including an urgent care video visits – you’ll need to be physically located in North Carolina, South Carolina or Georgia at the time of your visit.
No appointment is needed for a 24/7 urgent care video visit. However, if you prefer to see your child’s established in-person pediatrician or pediatric virtual primary care provider, you can use MyAtriumHealth to schedule a video visit. You can also try Symptom Checker to see if an eVisit with your child’s doctor might be right for you.
Most visits last about 15 minutes. Because there’s no physical exam, be ready to answer plenty of questions about your child’s condition. If your child is old enough, the provider will also want to hear directly from them to better understand their symptoms. This helps the provider make the right diagnosis and create a treatment plan to help your child feel better. You’ll also want to make sure your child is visible during the visit.
There’s a lot of care we can provide over video, but you’ll still need to come in person for physical exams and lab work. Sometimes during your video visit, your provider will decide it’s best to see you in person. If this happens, you won’t be charged for the video visit.
All you need is a strong internet connection and smartphone, tablet or computer with a microphone and camera. You might also need your insurance card and a form of photo identification.
You'll also need a MyAtriumHealth account – this is our free and secure patient portal, where you’ll start video visits, communicate with your child’s provider and request refills.
Video visits are often the same price as office visits. Insurance coverage varies, and services may be subject to any applicable copays, coinsurance and deductibles within your health plan. Please call your insurance provider for more information on your specific plan coverage.
