Eligibility
Doctor of Pharmacy or equivalent degree from an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy; eligibility for pharmacist licensure in North Carolina (www.ncbop.org); completion of a PGY1 pharmacy residency accredited by ASHP (or one in the process of accreditation); U.S. citizen or a U.S. permanent resident (i.e. have a U.S. Green Card). Individuals who require visa sponsorship are not eligible candidates for our residency program.
Instructions
Interested applicants should complete the following:
- Register for the ASHP Residency Matching Program (natmatch.com/ashprmp).
- Ensure eligibility for North Carolina licensure (ncbop.org). Licensure must be obtained by September 1st of the residency year.
- Submit a completed application for the residency program via PhORCAS (ashp.org/phorcas) by January 1st.
- Basic Demographics: Applicants will be required to submit basic demographics including address, phone, and email.
- Official Transcripts: As many university registrar offices will be closed during the holiday season, it is highly recommended that transcripts be requested and sent at the earliest possible date.
- Letter of Intent: Applicants should describe why you have decided to pursue this specific program and what one hopes to gain from residency training.

- PhORCAS References: Three professional references must complete the online PhORCAS reference form in the system.
- Extracurricular Information: Applicants will be asked to enter extracurricular activities into PhORCAS.
