Undergraduate Institution: University of Pittsburgh Pharmacy School: University of Pittsburgh PGY1: Atrium Health Cabarrus PGY1 in the Ambulatory Care Setting Clinical Interests: Diabetes, heart failure, cardiometabolic disease, and chronic pain management Research Project: Implementation of a Pharmacist-Led Heart Failure Guideline Directed Medication Therapy (GDMT) Optimization and Access Service in a Primary Care Setting Why Atrium Health CMC Ambulatory Care PGY2? I sought out Atrium Health for its ambulatory care program for residency because it is so robust. Our pharmacists and preceptors are deeply passionate about advancing students, residents, and the field of pharmacy. I decided to pursue a PGY2 to further develop my clinical abilities and because exposure to so many different clinical areas as well as academia and administration was exciting to me. I also wanted to further develop my leadership abilities with a heavy emphasis on teaching and mentoring. I am excited to develop my own clinical service line in heart failure optimization in primary care because I believe there is great need to support patients and providers coordinate therapy in this complex disease state. Atrium Health has really empowered me to become a better pharmacist and clinician in my PGY1, so I am excited to continue this training in PGY2. |
