A review of contemporary articles related to clinical neurology. Residents review the literature on a particular issue or topic recently encountered in clinical practice and select at least one pertinent article to present at the conference. They will discuss how the article relates to the greater body of evidence available in the literature, reviewing the study's the strengths and weaknesses, methodologies, and study design using the PICO method (patient/population, intervention, comparison, and outcomes). Residents summarize the findings and discuss how it relates to their patient or how it may change their clinical practice.

Seminars/Longitudinal Education Experiences

Residents complete a longitudinal quality improvement project over the course of their entire training. Each resident is assigned a mentor to guide and advise them throughout the process. The outcome of the project is expected to be meaningful to the program and result in a significant impact on the community we serve. Residents receive formal training on quality improvement through a dedicated lecture series given throughout the year. They are supported and encouraged to present their work during their final year of training at Atrium Health’s annual QI Symposium and are also encouraged to present their work at a regional or national conference.

Additionally, the curriculum Includes lectures on the business and financial aspects of medicine relevant to practicing neurologists.
