Residency Candidate Applicant Requirements:

Graduates of an ACPE-Accredited Program: Applicants must be graduates of an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE)-accredited Doctor of Pharmacy degree program (or one in process of pursuing accreditation).

Graduates of an ASHP-Accredited PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency Program: Applicants must be graduates (or anticipated graduates) of an American Society of Health-Systems Pharmacists (ASHP)-accredited PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency Program (or one in process of pursuing accreditation).

ASHP Resident Matching Program: Atrium Health Cabarrus' residency programs participate in the Resident Matching Program. Applicants MUST register to participate in the match. Submit a Completed PhORCAS Application: Information on PhORCAS can be found at ASHP.

On-Site Interview: An on-site interview at Atrium Health Cabarrus is required, unless the site shifts to virtual interviews. Applicants will be invited to interview based upon their application.

Atrium Health Application: Submit an Atrium Health online application and successfully meet the initial human resource requirements. These include a background check, reference checks, drug screen and health assessment/screen.

Work Authorization/Permit: To qualify for the residency program, all applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and will not require sponsorship now or in the future.

North Carolina Licensure: Residents must obtain North Carolina pharmacist licensure by September 1 of the residency year.
