National Matching Service Program Listing and Code: Carolinas Medical Center – Specialty Pharmacy (3168) - PGY1 

 Eligibility 

Doctor of Pharmacy or equivalent degree from an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy, eligibility for pharmacist licensure in North Carolina, U.S. citizen or a U.S. permanent resident (i.e. have a U.S. Green Card). Individuals who require visa sponsorship are not eligible candidates for our residency program. 

Instructions

Interested applicants should complete the following: 

  • Register for the ASHP Residency Matching Program 
  • Ensure eligibility for North Carolina licensure 
  • Submit an application for the residency program via PhORCAS with standard requirements including CV, pharmacy transcripts and a letter of intent 
  • Submit 3 letters of recommendation with at least 2 letters being from clinical rotation preceptors 
  • Please encourage your letter writers to include the following information: 
    • Number of year(s) served as a preceptor
    • Average number of student(s) precepted per year 
    • Candidate comparison/ranking of current or past students precepted (e.g. I have precepted around 3 students per year for 10 years this student is in the top 25% of students I have precepted)
