The didactic component of this residency program includes:
- Weekly patient care conferences that review treatment planning of dental cases in medically complex population (e.g.: oncology, cardiac surgery, transplant clearance patients)
- Monthly Oral Medicine patient care conferences reviewing select oral medicine cases (e.g.: oral lesions, oral mucosal disorders, salivary gland disorders, orofacial pain)
- Weekly Oral Medicine literature review seminars
- Preparation for American Board of Oral Medicine board examination (winterspring)
- A practical course on evidencebased dentistry, and skills interpreting the literature and research design (monthly)
