Why Atrium Health Cabarrus? “Atrium Health Cabarrus utilizes the entire pharmacy department to be actively involved in numerous aspects of patient care in a multi-disciplinary environment. Being a pharmacy student completing my APPE rotations with Atrium Health Cabarrus assisted in my choice of choosing the program after seeing how heavily involved the department works to optimize patient care, functionality for the entire hospital, and format of delivering education. The preceptors on each rotation always promote independence and participation through projects and mentorship. Key rotations offered in the emergency department and ICU also afford me the opportunity to tailor my elective rotations towards two areas of my interest. The chance to precept students and complete the teaching certificate program through High Point University also enhances training. I am excited to complete this year alongside my co-residents to continually grow my clinical knowledge and direct patient care!”

Why Atrium Health Cabarrus? “I chose Atrium Health because of the wide variety of rotation offerings and the prominent role that pharmacists have as part of the medical team. Cabarrus initially stood out to me as a program where I could hone my clinical skills and develop into a well-rounded hospital pharmacist. Additionally, the opportunity to collaborate with Atrium Health’s robust Antimicrobial Stewardship Network (ASN) throughout my training was a huge consideration for me. Working with ASN has allowed me to continuously stoke my clinical interests and integrate stewardship throughout my various learning experiences. The overall friendliness and dedication of the program’s staff ended up being the cherry on top. Everyone I have encountered at Cabarrus wants to see their residents succeed and strives to ensure that each resident reaches their goals.”
