Andrew M. Dries, MDDr. Dries is the Program Director of the Advanced Endoscopy Fellowship Program. He received his medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, and completed his gastroenterology fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Dries' areas of focus include endoscopic ultrasound and therapeutic pancreatic-biliary endoscopy. |

Jason Lewis, MDDr. Lewis received his medical degree from SUNY, Syracuse. He completed his gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Michigan and his advanced endoscopic fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University. Dr. Lewis’ areas of interest include endoscopic ultrasound, therapeutic pancreatic-biliary endoscopy and enteral stenting for benign and malignant GI disease. |

This is a 4th year stand-alone one-year fellowship for post-graduates of a three-year accredited Gastroenterology Fellowship (at CMC or other). This fellow will be selected through an interview and match process organized by the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE). During this year, fellows will perform new consultations and round daily on the advanced endoscopy consultation service. They will communicate with referring physicians and coordinate the care of these patients with surgery, radiology and oncology colleagues as needed. Fellows will be required to have an intimate knowledge of indications, contraindications and a detailed patient history prior to therapeutic endeavors. Advanced endoscopic training will include EUS with fine needle aspiration, all aspects of therapeutic ERCP and EUS guided-drainage procedures, as well as enteral stenting and advanced mucosal resection techniques. 4th year fellows will attend a ½ day per week therapeutic endoscopy outpatient clinic under the supervision of an advanced endoscopy attending. The fellow will be a member of the Department of Medicine staff at a clinical instructor level and there will be selected requirements, including supervision of the Myers Park General gastroenterology clinic, attending on the general inpatient gastroenterology service at CMS and general gastroenterology call. |
