Pediatrics residency application information

Review application requirements, interview timing and contact information for the Carolinas Medical Center Pediatrics Residency Program.

Applications are reviewed comprehensively. Because interview dates can fill quickly, applicants are encouraged to submit materials early and respond promptly to invitations.

U.S. graduates

For U.S. medical graduates

Interview days often fill before the application deadline. Early applications and prompt responses to interview invitations are encouraged.

Osteopathic students

A note for osteopathic applicants

The program accepts applications from students who have taken the COMLEX examinations.

It is helpful for applicants to have completed at least one USMLE examination.

International graduates

International medical graduate requirements

  1. Applicants must have graduated from medical school within three years of starting residency.
  2. Three letters of recommendation are required. A chair’s letter is not required.
  3. Applicants must have passed USMLE or COMLEX examinations.
  4. Applicants must be ECFMG certified at the time of application.
  5. U.S. clinical experience is required from an ACGME-approved program.
  6. Observerships are not offered.

Interviews are scheduled during October, November, December and January.

Interview invitations are sent through Thalamus. Applicants who receive an invitation are encouraged to select an available interview date as soon as possible.
