Why CMC? On my interview day I just felt a strong connection with the people and the program. I was really drawn to CMC being a tertiary care center and being known for OB excellence. I was also drawn to the program because they were starting a new Gyn Oncology fellowship and that is an area that I have a lot of interest in. Lastly, Charlotte is an awesome city with such a diverse array of options. It also happens to be perfectly located near family!

Why CMC? CMC checked all the boxes of the program I hoped to be part of during my training years. High volume, excellent surgical training. Lots of autonomy but also a lot of support. Above all people who cared about their patients and each other.
I fell in love with the program after interviewing, the sense of community that was portrayed virtually I immediately felt I belonged. After being here now for a year, I feel humbled and overjoyed I get the chance to live my dream and help women alongside compassionate and caring residents and faculty.

Why CMC? For me, CMC is the perfect combination of good people and quality training. On interview day the vibes were immaculate, and actually working here has been even better. The residents feel like family, the faculty are approachable and kind, and the training is making me an incredibly competent OBGYN.

Why CMC? When interviewing for residency programs, CMC was memorable to me because everyone seemed like a big family. There was an environment of support and encouragement on interview day that I just did not get anywhere else. Now that I am here, that "big family" feeling is so real, and it comes with incredible training, high volume, ample surgical experience, and supportive faculty, staff and co-residents. The environment both in and out of the hospital is just what I need to become the physician I want to become.

Why CMC? During my away rotation as a fourth-year medical student, the residents made me feel so welcome, and I truly felt like part of the team. The clinical volume and significant amount of surgical experience was a huge draw for me. I knew I would have both the training to become a well-rounded generalist and the resources to pursue fellowship if I desired. Since I’ve been here, I’ve found some of my best friends, all while getting incredible training and experience!

Why CMC? I chose CMC because I knew it had all the things I knew I wanted from a program — amazing surgical experience, well-known faculty, a diverse patient population, and a great setting in Charlotte. However, it surpassed all those expectations by also having true friendship and camaraderie between residents and faculty alike. I haven’t looked back a single day since and I know I will be a well-trained (and happy) OB/Gyn!
